Personal R&D · Houdini · Simulation preparation

The challenge

Before exploring real-time delivery, I needed a clear route from source leaves and environment geometry to a reusable simulation cache.

The approach

I prepared proxy colliders and leaf inputs, built Vellum shape-match constraints and reconstructed pieces from the simulation. A time-dependent file-cache stage preserves the motion for subsequent work. This scene focuses on preparation, simulation and caching; the VAT encoding experiments live in a separate comparison scene.

The value

The research helped me break the delivery problem into explicit stages. A prepared and cached simulation is a useful handoff point for exploring export methods without tying every experiment to a fresh solve. This was learning work rather than a production deployment.
